Alaska Boating Safety Advisory Council
The seven members of the council are Alaskan boaters appointed by
the Governor. The council assists the Office of Boating Safety on boating
safety programs and issues.
Alaska Historical Commission
This nine-member commission advises the Governor on programs concerning
history and prehistory, historic sites and buildings, and on geographic
names. The Governor appoints members to this commission.
Outdoor Recreation Trail Advisory Board (ORTAB)
The nine members of the Outdoor Recreation Trail Advisory Board are
appointed by the DNR Commissioner. The board advises the Director of
the Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation on project funding for
eligible outdoor recreation projects.
SnowTRAC Committee
The nine member SnowTRAC committee advises the Director of the Division
of Parks and Outdoor Recreation on funding for eligible grant projects
under the Snowmobile Trail Grant.

Special State Park Advisory Councils appointed by the Governor

State Parks Special Advisory Board members appointed by the Department
of Natural Resources Commissioner.
State Park Advisory Boards
Alaska State Parks Citizen Advisory Boards assist park staff with
management and development issues. Size of an advisory board varies
between 7 and 15. Appointments are made by the Director of Alaska State
Parks for up to three year terms. If you would like to serve on a board
please fill out an Alaska State Park Advisory
Board Application and mail to your local Park Office. Meetings are
open to the public. Advisory Board vacancies are posted on the Alaska
