Lagoon-East Cabin offers a host of recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Fishing, boating, kayaking, and hiking just to name a few. You will have the opportunity to observe sea otters, seals, porpoise and whales. Land mammals include moose, black bear, mountain goats, coyotes and wolves. Bird watching is another favorite pastime; species include eagles, gyrfalcons and puffins.

Located at the south end of Halibut Cove Lagoon, approximately 10 miles from the Homer Spit, and in the immediate vicinity of the public dock and ramp at the Ranger Station. If using private boat please use caution in coastal Alaskan water with respect to the tides, weather and party's abilities and experience. **

WINTER ACCESS:
In the winter, the dock ramps are raised and not used. Access to the Halibut Cove Lagoon cabins in the winter is via stairs on the beach. If you plan to use the dock, you'll need to use a dinghy to reach the beach.

Special Notes:
* Pets must be kept on a leash as there are bears and other hikers in the area.

**Access to the lagoon has sholes that can leave boaters stranded. Ensure you are aware of the proper channel and tidal conditions needed for your vessel.
