The Goldeneye Cabin is one of six front country Cabins located in the Chena River State Recreation Area and is road accessible.
Relax on the front porch and gaze out on the pond or whip the sparkling crystal-clear water for hungry Grayling and Rainbow Trout. The cabin's location makes is a great starting point for exploring the area or visiting the Chena Hot Springs Resort.
The cabin is supplied with a wood stove, table, seats, broom, ax, saw, and shovel. Please help keep it neat and attractive for those who will use it after your visit.
Location:
The Goldeneye Cabin can be accessed at 48 mile Chena Hot Springs Road. Watch for the 48 Mile Pond sign on the right of CHSR (South) side of the road. It is less than 400 feet to the parking area and bathroom from the entrance. Follow the driveway to pond and the cabin is on the right, near the bathroom. The cabin code will be provided with your reservation. There is no gated access.

The combination to the lock on the door is provided when the cabin is rented.
In Winter, there is one Ice Hut available to rent late December through April 1st.
The Ice Hut is supplied with a wood stove, ash bucket, and ash scoop. All other equipment and supplies must be provided by the user including food, cookware, fuel, matches, lighters, paper, fire starter, FIREWOOD, flashlight, lantern and fuel, ice auger and/or ice pick, fishing gear and tackle and chairs. Bring your own first aid items, plastic trash bags, jug of water, saw or ax, just in case. There are four spots in the floor for a total of four ice fishing holes. Users will most likely need to open up the ice holes upon arrival. The 48 Mile Pond Ice Hut is located off 48 Mile Chena Hot Springs Road. Watch for the 48 Mile Pond sign on the right (South) side of the road. It is less than 400 feet to the parking area and bathroom from the entrance. The combination to the lock on the ice hut will be provided when the ice hut is rented. Help us keep our cabins looking good. Refrain from graffiti of any kind, including writing your initials on any surface of this public use cabin. This constitutes vandalism of a park resource, punishable by a fine of $320 per 11 AAC 12.240.
** Pets must be under control at all times and you are responsible for cleaning up your pet's waste.

This cabin has a combination lock on the door. Once you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Reserve America with important information about the cabin, including a combination for the door lock. Print out this confirmation e-mail and bring it with you to the cabin. If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of making the reservation, please contact the reservation call center at 1-844-351-9733 9am-5pm..
Remember that these cabins are not hotels. Always be prepared! Be sure to bring:
