Comfortable log cabin on the lake. Cabin is wired for electric lights, bring own generator. Has woodstove, bunks, table, benches. In the summer, water is supplied by the campground pump or purifying lake water; in the winter, bring your own, purify lake water or melt snow. Firewood NOT provided. Summer activities include hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, and boating (gas-powered motors are not allowed on Byers Lake). Winter activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, dog mushing, ice fishing and snowmobiling.

Location:
Mile 147 of the Parks Highway.
Summer access: A one-half mile walk from the gate in the Day Use area, or canoe one-half mile from boat launch. Follow signs. Cabin #3 is about 70 yards beyond Cabin #2.

Winter access: The road into Byers Lake Campground is not plowed in the winter. Park at the Alaska Veteran's Memorial, milepost 147.1, Parks Highway, and follow the marked winter trail with snow vehicle, skis, dog sled, or foot. The trail will intersect and follow the Byers Lake Campground Road down the hill. Bear right at the hill bottom, and follow the signs through the Day Use area and down the trail to Cabins #2 and #3. Cabin #3 is about 70 yards beyond Cabin #2. Total distance is 1.7 miles. Snowmobile openings are announced when there is sufficient snow cover to protect underlying vegetation.
