Alaska State Park Fees

Annual camping passes are no longer available. The program was discontinued in 2004.


Annual passes:
  • Daily Parking Pass: $40
  •    Second Daily Parking Pass*: $20

  • Boat Launch Pass: $75
  •    Second Boat Launch Pass*: $40

  • Discount when both passes bought together: $100
  •    (discount of $15)

  • Disabled Veteran's Annual Camping Pass - Free
  •    Check eligibility requirements.

*Second pass discount for same family at same address only. Third and subsequent day use and boat launch passes are full price.

Passes are good for the calendar year and are honored in most state parks.

Note: Some parks are managed by private firms and do not accept day use and boat launch passes. Contact your local park office for more information. Also see the fee listing by facility for more information.

  • Quartz Lake SRA, near Delta Junction: $25 non-peak / $35 peak per night;

  • Birch Lake SRS, near Fairbanks: $25 non-peak / $35 peak per night;

  •    Trail Access Cabins $20 non-peak / $25 peak per night

Mat-Su/Copper Basin
  • Nancy Lake SRA, Willow:
  •    Lynx Lake cabins: $25 non-peak / $35 peak per night
  •    Nancy Lake, James Lake, and Red Shirt Lake cabins: $30 non-peak / $45 peak per night
  •    Bald Lake cabin: $45 non-peak / $60 peak per night
  • Denali SP, Byers Lake, near Trapper Creek: $45 non-peak / $60 peak per night
  • Matanuska Glacier SRS Cabin near Matanuska Glacier $50 non-peak & peak per night.
  •     Stay limit of 7 consecutive nights per month; 4 person capacity limit. This cabin is under private management.

Kodiak
  • Afognak Island SP, Kodiak: $25 non-peak / $35 peak per night
  • Shuyak Island SP, Kodiak: $60 non-peak / $75 peak per night

Chugach

  Eklutna Lake:
  • Yuditnu Creek Cabin; Sleeps 6-8 adults, $40 non-peak / $50 peak per night
  •    Stay limit of three consecutive nights or one weekend per month.
  • Serenity Fall Hut - $10 per night for a single bunk, $15 per night for a double bunk, sleeping bay $25 to $45 per night depending on the number of bunks, $115 per night to rent the entire hut.

  Eagle River Nature Center:
  • Eagle River Nature Center Cabin - $55 per night for members, $65 per night for non-members, sleeps eight.
  •    Stay limit of seven consecutive nights. Managed by the Friends of Eagle River Nature Center.
  • Eagle River Nature Center "River Trail" and "Rapids Camp" Yurts - $55 per night for members, $65 per night for non-members, sleeps four.
  •    Stay limit of seven consecutive nights.

Kenai/Prince William Sound
  • Kachemak Bay SP, near Homer: $50 non-peak / $65 peak per night
    Mooses Valley $25 non-peak / $35 peak per night
  • Caines Head SRA, near Seward: $50 non-peak / $65 peak per night
  • Thumb Cove SMP, near Seward: $50 non-peak / $65 peak per night

There is a $10 reservation fee when a cabin reservation is changed or canceled.

- A change to or cancellation of a reservation for a Public Use Cabin or Ice Fishing Hut must be done seven days prior to the beginning date of the reservation. Refunds are not provided for Eagle River Nature Center rental cancellations.

- There is a $10 fee to change a reservation. If canceling a reservation, a credit will be issued less a $10 fee from the original cost of the cabin reservation. Refunds are not issued.

- The original reservation receipt must be presented in order to cancel or change a reservation.

- If the cancellation or change of a cabin reservation is due to an emergency or adverse weather conditions, the seven-day notification requirement and $10 fee may be waived.

- Without the seven-day notification, a reservation cannot be cancelled or changed. The rental fees are forfeited and no credit will be issued.

- Credits are good for one year from date of issue and can be used one time only and must be presented when making a new reservation.
