NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF THE 2024 UNALASKA BAY SITE SPECIFIC PLAN AND ISSUE RESPONSE SUMMARY

The Unalaska Bay Site Specific Plan area includes nearly 89,000 acres of state-owned tide and submerged land in Unalaska Bay. Stretching from Cape Cheerful in the west to Erskine Point in the east, the planning area includes Nateekin Bay, Captains Bay, Iliuliul Bay, Summer Bay, Kalekta Bay, and runs north to the three-mile seaward limit, where it abuts the boundary of the Bristol Bay Area Plan. The Unalaska Bay Site Specific Plan (UBSSP) proposes to classify the tide and submerged land within the planning area as Wildlife Habitat and Public Recreation Land, Waterfront Development Land, and Reserved Use.
The Issue Response Summary and Public Review Draft together serve as the final plan for the purpose of Adoption. A final plan with recommended corrections will be released after the appeal period has concluded. Information on the Appeals Process is included in the Public Notice document available below.
