Location

Thimbleberry is located within Sitka approximately 2.5 miles southeast of downtown on Shotgun Alley at the northwest corner of Thimbleberry Bay.

Access Details

Access to the project area is via Sawmill Creek Road to Shotgun Alley.

Utilities

All utility services, including, water, wastewater, electric, and telecommunications by the City and Borough of Sitka (CBS).

Local Government

Thimbleberry is located within the City and Borough of Sitka (CBS) and subject to the borough’s platting authority.

Fire

The Sitka Fire Department serves the project area. This area is in a Critical Fire Management Option. See the “Fire and Burning Activities” section of this brochure for details.

Notes

The project area is within FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map Community Panel 02220C0417C. The project area is within flood zone AE, defined as 100 -year floodplain where Base Flood Elevations are provided. The project area is in a developed residential neighborhood. It will fit into CBS’s SF/SFLD (single family and single family low -density) Title 22 zoning.
