Cold Water Paddling
Our Cold Water Paddling class is a free course that gives participants the opportunity to learn and practice assisted rescues, self rescues, and basic boat control with canoes, kayaks, and standup paddleboards, all while in the safe, controlled environment of the pool. The class includes one hour of classroom instruction (covering some of Alaska’s boating laws and regulations, cold water immersion and other safety information, paddling equipment, trip planning, etc.) and two hours in the water.
While this course is open to everyone, anyone under the age of 14 must have an adult participating in the class with them.
We only offer Cold Water Paddling classes during the summer and fall season.
