The Department and Mining Section is excited to announce that Alaska Mapper has been updated to provide locators with new tools to research and create recordable Mining Claim Sketch/Maps. These new Mapper features are custom built for mineral locators to meet the requirements of 11 AAC 86.215 and the DNR Recorder's Office.

File your Mining License Tax and Production Royalties on Locatable Minerals returns online at the Department of Revenue (DOR) website
To file your Production Royalty return, add account type “Mining Royalty” to your pre-existing Mining License account. Filing your Production Royalty return online, saves time with the autofill feature, and allows for online payments. Mining License Tax is due April 30th and Production Royalty Returns are due May 1st.
You can schedule appointments with the Recorder's Office and Public Information Center (PIC) during normal business hours, for large volumes of documents to be recorded or rents paid. Although an appointment is not required, if you have 100 or more documents, call and make an appointment today!
Recording appointments can be made by calling the Recorder's Office in Anchorage at 907-269-8875 and in Fairbanks at 907-452-3521.
Annual rent payment appointments can be made by calling the PIC in Anchorage at 907-269-8400 and in Fairbanks at 907-451-2705.
