ALASKA BRAND APPLICATION
The Alaska Statutes, Title 3, Chapter 40, Brands and Marks, gives Division of Agriculture the authority to issue brand registrations for livestock, including cattle, reindeer, bison, musk oxen, sheep, horses, mules, and asses. While Honeybee's are not native to Alaska they have found their place here with apiaries producing and selling local honey and beeswax bags at farmers markets all across the state. It is crucial to monitor bee populations in Alaska to prevent the spread of diseases like American and European foulbrood. Regular hive inspections and registration of bees can help detect and mitigate these risks, safeguarding both individual hives and neighboring apiaries from potential harm. Bee registration plays a vital role in disease prevention within apiaries. The information provided remains confidential within the Division of Agriculture and is solely utilized to locate neighboring apiaries for notification purposes in case of positive findings, thereby enhancing disease prevention efforts without compromising privacy.
FEED AND FERTILIZER REGULATIONS
At this time, the State of Alaska does not have registration requirements that apply to pet food, animal feed, fertilizer, plant food, and soil amendments. Federal "Truth in Labeling" laws apply in Alaska, as in all states.
