Alaska Boating Safety Educator of the Year Award - Awarded by the Alaska Office of Boating Safety to a person or group who has who has made significant contributions to, and/or demonstrated outstanding performance in boating safety education during the year.

Alaska Boating Safety Educator Award of Merit - Awarded by the Alaska Office of Boating Safety to those persons or groups who were nominated for the Alaska Boating Safety Educator of the Year Award.

WSBAA Boating Safety Educator of the Year Award - Awarded by the Western States Boating Administrators Association (WSBAA) to a person or group from a member state who has who has made significant contributions to, and/or demonstrated outstanding performance in boating safety education during the year. The Alaska Office of Boating Safety forwards the winner of the Alaska Boating Safety Educator of the Year award to WSBAA for their consideration.

National Boating Safety Educator of the Year Award - Awarded by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) to a person or group from a member state who has who has made significant contributions to, and/or demonstrated outstanding performance in boating safety education during the year. The Alaska Office of Boating Safety forwards the winner of the Alaska Boating Safety Educator of the Year award to NASBLA for their consideration.

  Alaska's boating fatalities: 9 of 10 were not wearing a life jacket, or were never found   -  5 of 6 followed a capsize, swamping, ejection, or fall overboard, into Alaska's cold water   -  9 of 10 were adult males -  9 of 10 involved boats under 26 feet in length  -  3 of 4 involved powerboats
