I am a multi-generational Alaskan and have spent most of life in Western Alaska. My grandparents ran the roadhouse at Cooper Landing before the it was on the highway. My dad mined gold and built roads as an engineer all over the state. I have lived in Nome for over 50 years, but have lived in Fairbanks, Juneau, Dillingham, and Anchorage as well. Primarily, I have worked as a fisheries biologist but have worked construction and truck driving jobs in my youth. I was an officer on the Nome volunteer Ambulance for 32 years. As a very outdoorsy person, I have enjoyed the freedom to live the life I chose with very little restrictions on my travel and activities I pursued. I became aware of CACFA about 2007 and was appointed to serve shortly after. It’s been an education meeting resident of the state and hearing their issues. I see many common causes as we work our way around the state.

I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. After earning post graduate degrees in Mathematics and Education, I moved to Alaska in 1978. For 30 years, I have lived a subsistence lifestyle on a homestead in Wrangell–St. Elias National Park & Preserve. When inholder access was threatened by National Park Service policies in 2003, I became a founding member and Chair of Residents of the Wrangells (ROW), a park wide organization of Alaskans with private inholdings dedicated to improving the relationship between federal authorities and private landowners.
Working alongside the State ANILCA team and the National Park Service, we helped develop a Users’ Guide to Accessing Inholdings and created a new Right of Way Certificate of Access. This certificate ensures that inholders in all Alaska Conservation System Units have guaranteed access to their properties in perpetuity, without permits or fees.
As a result of my involvement, I was appointed by the Governor to the Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Federal Areas (CACFA) when it was reestablished in 2009. I served for nine years until it was defunded in 2016, and was reappointed in 2024, serving as Vice Chair when CACFA funding was restored.
In the interim, I have been employed for more than seven years as the CFO/Financial Manager for the Native Village of Kluti Kaah in Copper Center, which has given me a strong understanding of Alaska Native issues and the federal grant process.

I am a fourth generation, lifelong Alaskan with a long family history in the Interior. In 2010, I moved from my hometown of Anchorage to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Secondary Education. I later completed a master’s in public administration from UAA in 2020. Since 2023, I have been serving as a Representative in the Alaska State House for West Fairbanks.
Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, especially my beagle, Zephyr. I live on a five acre plot of undeveloped taiga forest and enjoy my home nestled between Ester and Murphy Dome.

I am a territorial kid, born and raised in Fairbanks, about ½ mile from where the Constitutional Convention was held on the University of Alaska land grant campus. My father was a captain for Wien Airlines. My mother was an attorney, doing pro bono legal work for seniors. I’ve spent a lifetime in Alaska, married for 52 years to a civil engineer, raising our 3 kids in Anchorage. I’ve served in the State Senate for 14 years, chairing the Senate Resources Committee for 10 years. I am newly appointed to CACFA. My husband and I plan to live our lives here and be buried next to my parent in Fairbanks.

I am a lifelong Alaskan with deep roots in Southeast Alaska. Raised in Juneau and Gull Cove as part of a third generation Alaska fishing family, I have spent much of my life working on and around Alaska’s public lands and waters. I manage my family’s remote lodge and charter operation in Southeast Alaska and serve as Secretary of the Elfin Cove Fish & Game Advisory Committee. I hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University and am currently pursuing my MBA. My experience in tourism, fisheries, small business, and rural Alaska informs my work on the Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Federal Areas, where I am particularly focused on public access, responsible land management, and ensuring Alaskans have a voice in decisions affecting federal lands.

I am a lifelong Alaskan with deep roots in Interior Alaska. I was raised in Circle by my mother and grandparents. My grandmother was Gwich’in Athabascan from Circle, and my grandfather came to Alaska from Sweden in 1925 in search of gold. He was a prospector and trapper who also worked for the Alaska Road Commission, now DOT.
I attended Mt. Edgecumbe High School and later studied Rural Development at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, as well as Organizational Management at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Much of my career has been spent working with Alaska Native tribes, corporations, and organizations. I served six years on the Yukon Flats School Board, spent approximately ten years as president of my ANCSA village corporation, and previously worked as a consultant with Arctic Resource Group.
For the past seven years, I have worked for Doyon, Limited—first in the Legal Department and currently as the Village Outreach Liaison in Communications and External Affairs. My work focuses on outreach and engagement with tribes and village corporations throughout the Doyon region.
As a member of the Citizens’ Advisory Commission on Federal Areas, I bring a rural and Alaska Native perspective to federal land and resource issues. I believe affected communities should have a meaningful voice in decisions involving federal lands and support balanced approaches to development, access, conservation, and subsistence. I view subsistence as fundamental to food security, culture, and community well being and have a strong interest in ANILCA and its protections for Alaska’s unique way of life.
