The unit also provides centralized facility and communications support, mail, and courier services for the 350 DNR employees in the Anchorage Office.

Land Records Information Section

The Land Records Information Section (LRIS) maintains the department's land records repository, oversees DNR's computer systems, data processing, support and development functions, and networks services. LRIS provides public access to state land records, including information on cases, customers, and land parcel information via plats, surveys, and maps. Federal and state land records are jointly available via coopertive projects. The Department of Natural Resources' systems include the Land Administration System (LAS), the Geographic Information System, the Revenue and Billing System, and others.

The title insurance, real estate, and banking industries, as well as the general public, depend on the services provided to maintain an orderly real property conveyance process and to protect financial security interests. The State Recorder's Office administers the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) Central File. The UCC Central File System maintains the public record of filed documents related to security interests in personal property.
