Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan - SCORP

Alaska State Parks is in the process of revising the "Alaska's Outdoor Legacy - Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP)" for 2004. SCORP maintains Alaska's eligibility to participate in the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) program in addition to helping policymakers determine where and how funds for outdoor recreation should be allocated for State and local recreation projects.

The plan gives Alaska State Parks the direction and priorities necessary to implement strong outdoor recreation programs for all levels of government as well as the private sector. Developing a secure funding base for outdoor recreation, maintenance, and expanding recreation opportunities on public lands, improving access to recreation resources, and meeting the needs of diverse and increasing user groups.
