Reservation and Fee Information
Reservation Information
Reservations can be made by Alaskan residents seven (7) months to-the day in advance of the first day of intended use and six (6) months in advance to-the day by non-residents. Reservations can extend up to the maximum stay limits which vary from 3 to 7 consecutive nights.
Cabin reservations may also be made on-line by
clicking on the "See Cabin Availability" button. When you
have located available dates, go to "make a reservation" and
fill out the required information. When a reservation is accepted, a
combined receipt and permit to use the cabin is issued. Print your permit as you must have this permit with you when occupying the cabin. Permits are
issued for non-commercial purposes only, and on a first-come, first-serve
basis.
A permit-day begins at 12:00 noon on the assigned day and ends
at 12:00 noon on the following day. A detailed map and information pertaining
to the specific cabin rented will be available upon making a reservation.
Maximum stay limits vary from 3 to 7 consecutive nights. Cabin capacity
varies from 3 to 8 people.
Reservations can also be made in person, by mail, or by fax at the offices below.
Fees are not refundable, although a one-time cabin credit can be given
under certain circumstances. You must present the original receipt/permit
to change a reservation or receive a cabin credit. A cabin credit can
be issued: 1) If we receive your cancellation or change 7 calendar days
in advance from the first day of the reservation; or 2) After 7 calendar
days, if the cabin cannot be used due to events beyond control (e.g.
natural disaster, extreme weather*, family emergency) or some fault of
the Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation. A cabin credit is good
for one year from the date of issue. A cabin credit may not be turned
in for a refund. There is a service fee to change or cancel a reservation.
Cabin users are responsible for any damages to the cabins, associated
facilities, or park resources. Please report any damages you may find
to the local park office or the DNR Public Information Center.
PLEASE REMEMBER to print out your receipt
and parking permit when making on-line reservations. You will receive 2 emails: one will be your receipt for the credit card transaction; the second will be from pic.dnr@alaska.gov with your reservation attached in a PDF format. Please check your SPAM filter if you do not receive the “PIC email". Two vehicles are allowed parking permits per cabin rental. Display the permit upon the dash board of your vehicle.
*Extreme weather in the Northern Region is defined as Minus 30° F for the "North Fork" and "Chena River" Cabins, Minus 20° F for all other cabins and ice huts.
