Alaska Uniform Waterway Marking System

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources developed and adopted regulations establishing a uniform state waterway marking system for the placement of waterway markers on the water of the state. The regulations, which became effective on October 25, 2002, are found in Alaska Administrative Code 11 AAC .07. The regulations are compatible with the U.S aids to navigation system prescribed by the United States Coast Guard.
