Alaska State Land Surveys
When a decision to lease or conveyance of State-owned land is approved, an Alaska State Land Survey is required. The first step in the process is a written request for survey instructions to be issued. To be included in this letter:
- Your name and address
- The location of the land applied for, along with the ADL casefile number.
- The name and address of your surveyor. The surveyor is required to be a Professional Land Surveyor registered in Alaska.
- Survey Instruction fee of $225.
After the survey, plats must be submitted to the DNR Survey Section for review. The review fee is $200 for the first parcel plus $50 for each additional parcel, tract or lot created by the survey. For a list of the survey fees covered by regulation, see this link.
