Draft Reclamation Plan Approval and
Draft Waste Management Permit
30-day Public Comment
Nixon Fork Mine is a small underground gold mine located about 32 miles northeast of McGrath, Alaska on claims on U.S. Bureau of Land Management-administered lands. The project applicant, Fire River Gold Corp., operating as Mystery Creek Resources, Inc., has updated the mine's Plan of Operations and monitoring plan for the current operation and requested the reissuance of two state authorizations.
On March 22, 2012 the State of Alaska released the draft Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Waste Management Permit (WMP) for a required 30-day public review and comment period and the draft Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Reclamation Plan Approval for a concurrent review. These proposed decisions and support documents are posted below.
