Alaska Railroad Corporation Northern Rail Line Extension

The Department of Natural Resources, Northern Regional Office, is requesting input from you regarding trails that may be affected by Alaska Railroad Corporation's Northern Rail Line Extension Project.

The proposed Alaska Railroad Corporation Northern Line Extension from North Pole to Delta Junction crosses a variety of public lands used for recreation and other purposes.  Many of these lands are accessed via established winter and summer trails.  DNR wants to sustain access to these lands by identifying the trails currently in use by the public.  To do this, we need your help.  As trail users, you know where these trails are located and when and for what purpose they are used.

To collect information, we have developed a short survey and an accompanying set of maps.  Please take the time to complete the survey and draw-in and label any trail(s) on the maps that are missing.  Your trail use information will allow the department to effectively evaluate the need of each trail and where railroad crossings will be needed.
