The State Federal Partnership

Partnerships with other conservation agencies are an integral part of the accomplishment of the Department of Natural Resources’ mission

  • A key federal partner is the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) which provides technical assistance to soil and water conservation districts.
  • The Alaska Association of Conservation Districts (AACD), a non-profit organization, was formed with a representative from each soil and water conservation district to serve the districts administratively.
  • Alaska’s soil and water conservation districts belong to the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) whose mission is to “serve conservation districts by providing national leadership and a unified voice for natural resource conservation.”
  • The NRCDB belongs to the National Association of State Conservation Agencies (NASCA) whose mission is to serve America’s conservation agencies.
