The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) applications collecting online payments are changing credit card processors. As a result these DNR secure applications will be unavailable from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. ADT on Thursday, July 7:

DNR Webservers unavailable Saturday, May 7th from 9am-1pm.
The Atwood building DNR data center power outage is scheduled for Saturday May 7th from 9am-1pm. This outage is to finalize our new UPS installation for this location.
The following DNR services will be impacted by this outage.
·Web Servers – OFFLINE – Internal and External sites
·Atwood network filers and shares – OFFLINE (//dnr-atwfs1 and //dnr-atwfs0)
·DHCP services (this service provides you your IP address which allows you to make network connections – this may or may not affect you depending on your IP lease time)
We are told by our contractors that this should be a fairly quick cut over. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause some folks, but this is necessary to complete the project.

Web Server Maintenance Schedule
Computer and Technology Services (CATS) will be conducting regularly scheduled maintenance on the DNR web server systems on Thursdays between 5-6pm effective immediately.
During this maintenance period the different web server systems may be rebooted and each system may experience a brief period of downtime. This is necessary to perform routine maintenance like applying operating system patches which require system restarts.
The impact of this maintenance is expected to be minimal.

Oracle Production database restarts after working hours
Between 5 – 5:20 PM today, DNR's Oracle RAC databases will be shutdown and restarted.
Tomorrow morning December 16th between 6 – 6:30 AM DNR's other Oracle RAC databases will be shutdown and restarted.

The Oracle RAC databases are scheduled to be upgraded on Saturday December 12th.
These databases will all need to be shut down (Unavailable) for the upgrade.They will be upgraded and latest critical security patches applied.

Applications connecting to the Juneau computer systems are unavailable due to network work from 6:55 - 9 a.m., Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Interruptions to On-Line applications, email, mainframe, wide area network & phone services on Sunday 12/6/2009 (so63927)
ETS will be upgrading software on Juneau Core, DMZ, and DOT/HSS network equipment on Sunday December 6th from 6am to 9am. HSS and DOT asked for their site work (3132 Channel Drive & Alaska Office Building) to begin at 6am. Service interruptions for other users will begin at 7am. Work on redundant Core and IP Telephony (IPT) systems is occurring 6am-7am. These equipment software upgrades are required for ongoing equipment support and security reasons.
Except for the affected HSS and DOT services, SOA Network users and outside users accessing SOA services should not experience noticeable interruptions until 7am, the beginning of the weekly Sunday 7am-9am Network Outage window. As mentioned, there will also be work 6am-7am on redundant Core & IP Telephony systems; this 6am-7am work should not cause noticeable impacts to users unless an unexpected redundancy failure occurs.
During this Sunday 12/6/09 7am-9am Network Outage window, customers should expect intermittent interruptions to all Juneau housed services. Different groups of services may be affected at different times during the outage window. All interruptions should be resolved by 9am.
Affected services during Sunday 7am-9am include: • All Juneau Data Center (JDC) connections • Mainframe access • Juneau and Southeast Wide Area Network (WAN) • Juneau-based State Telephony services • Juneau-based Internet connectivity and Internet services • State Web services • Juneau-based Email and Directory • Servers housed in the Juneau Data Center including the Customer Managed Server Area • Enterprise Applications including: o Accepts Credit Card processing o Beaches Electronic Funds Transfer o Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) o MyAlaska o USD Service Desk • Intermittent interruptions to Juneau State Office Bldg LAN services • Intermittent interruptions to phones are possible

The Department of Administration has informed us that they are experiencing problems with mainframe applications. As a result, any DNR application that connects to the mainframe is unavailable. They do not have an estimates on the duration of the problem.

Many DNR applications unavailable 9/13, 9/20 and 9/27 due to State network maintenance
Dept. of Administration’s ETS group will be moving network equipment in Juneau’s State Office Building on three Sundays in September, September 13th, 20th and 27th. All services housed in the Juneau data center will be affected with service interruptions and outages. The time window for these outages will be 6:00 am through 2:00 pm for each Sunday. Please mark your calendars.
Different groups of services may be affected at different times during the outage windows. While some connections and services may be available or intermittently available, ETS cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to these services during these 3 Sunday timeframes.

The DNR file server system will be upgraded on Saturday, July 18 starting at 10am until 2pm ADT. During this time the DNR web servers and related services will be shut down and unavailable.
Servers and Applications that will be unavailable during this time are:
Kodiak file server (home and shared directories for Atwood building employees)
DNR's Web Servers (Internal and External) and web based applications for ALL employees
Atwood Building Print Server
Recorder's Office - Bar Code server
Symantec Anti Virus Server
Windows Software Update Services Server
HelpStar Server
LANDesk Server
Atwood Building Network Services (samba network drive mappings and dynamic network address assignment for computers)
LRIS's virtual test and development servers
Employees in the Atwood Building may not be able to connect to the Internet, mainframe, email or print during this outage.
Also Atwood Building employees are encouraged to save and close any files they keep on the kodiak server before leaving work this Friday.

Main DNR web server unavailable Thursday, April 16, 5pm - 6pm ADT
The Computer Information Center is planning maintenance on the server room UPS (battery backup) this Thursday (4/16) starting at 5:00 pm. This work is necessary due to the power outage incident at the Atwood building that occurred several months ago.
As a precaution, the CIC will be shutting down DNR's web servers and related services. During this outage CIC will be updating software and hardware on some servers. The CIC will restart the servers as soon as possible.
The server outage is anticipated to last approximately 1 hour.

Main DNR web server unavailable Saturday, January 31, 11:00am - 3:00pm
DNR's web server will be unavailable Saturday, January 31, from 11:00am to 3:00pm due to DNR system maintenance. No web services will be available. This outage includes all oracle services, web servers (except for DGGS and Oil/Gas) and file services in Anchorage.

Many DNR Applications Unavailable Due To Database Outage
DNR's Oracle servers are experiencing an unexpected outage at this time. There is no estimated time when the servers will be back online, DNR staff along with Oracle technical support are working on the problem.

Applications connecting to the State of Alaska Mainframe unavailable Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008 from 7 AM to 3 PM
The State of Alaska Mainframe computer is being upgraded to a new operating system. The system is scheduled to be unavailable from 7 AM to 3 PM on December 14, 2008.

Online payments for Cabin Reservations, Land Sales, Land Payments, etc.

Welcome to dnr.alaska.gov!
This week we are moving the primary DNR web site to new computer servers. The web address www.dnr.state.ak.us is also changing to http://dnr.alaska.gov (or http://www.dnr.alaska.gov). This web site address change reflects the gradual move of all State of Alaska web sites to the alaska.gov domain.
The old web site address www.dnr.state.ak.us will continue to work and be translated into the new web address automatically.
Why are you changing computer servers?
Our existing web servers are outdated. The newer software we need to accomplish our tasks will not work on the older web servers. We have used these servers for as long as we can.
We do not have a date set to retire this web site address. It will be run in conjunction with the dnr.alaska.gov web address for a number of years at a minimum. You can begin changing your browser bookmarks now to reflect the new web site address.
